The Joy Dome (42' diameter)
Started in September 2003, master-minded by Pamela & Rodney

Our Foundation is 1.5' below grade, then comes up 2' so the dome then sits 6" above ground level, we chose 8" Sono tubes and Earth Bags as our foundation and stem walls (earth bag builders may suggest the Sono tube were not needed)

The Dome was erected in four days with the help of Nick and the Growing Spaces Crew (Pam & I got to be part of the crew)

The Bed design is based on a Medicine Wheel, chosen for beauty and getting as much growing space as possible.

Although its taken more than a month to create the beds, we have only been able to put in part time hours.

Nov 11, 2003 just finishing up the last coat of stucco and paint, also beginning to bring in soil in the outer beds

Nov 23 2003, most of the Soil is in and we planted a Ginkgo Tree in a center bed
